Vi erbjuder anpassade drift- och underhållsavtal enligt tillverkarens servicekrav.

Who can apply?

Klimatklivet välkomnar anbud från samtliga typer av organisationer, inklusive företag, regioner, kommuner och kommunala bolag, föreningar, bostadsrättsföreningar samt stiftelser. Alla utom privatpersoner har möjlighet att ansöka.

As long as your project meets the criteria below, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency will assess it in its selection process. Tenders are then assessed based on their climate benefits and the applicable terms and conditions. 

The project will:
  • be a physical investment
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to if the measure is not implemented

  • be possible for your organization to co-finance and implement
  • be a local or regional investment

What is Klimatklivet?

Klimatklivet is a support program that makes it possible to invest in fossil-free propulsion. Applying can be time-consuming and complicated, so we help you through the entire process. Since Klimatklivet was launched, we have seen record figures every year. Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly common, and the establishment of charging solutions must keep pace with this trend in order for the charging infrastructure to cope. This is therefore one of Klimatklivet's priority areas and an important part of the transition to greener transport.

Taking part in Klimatklivet can be crucial to realising an investment in charging stations – but the conditions must be right from the start. With the right plan and partnership, you will not only have half of your investment financed; you will also be taking a clear step towards making your business climate-smart and future-proof.

What is required to receive investment support?

Depending on what you are seeking support for, there are different categories of support. Each category has different criteria that must be met for a bid to be approved.

Projektet innebär en faktisk fysisk investering. Det räcker inte med en idé – det ska finnas en tydlig plan för att installera laddstationer som leder till konkreta utsläppsminskningar jämfört med ett alternativ där investeringen inte genomförs. Projektet behöver dessutom vara beroende av stödet för att bli genomförbart, det vill säga utan finansiering från Klimatklivet hade satsningen inte blivit av.

The organisation behind the project must have both the capacity to implement the initiative and finance its share of the investment. In addition, the initiative must be local or regional in scope – Klimatklivet does not target national or central infrastructure initiatives.

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency can co-finance public charging infrastructure where there is a need for support. You can apply for support by submitting a tender when a call for proposals is open.

A bidder may submit a maximum of 25 bids per charging category.

Utlysningen 2026 ger stöd inom en (1) laddningskategori.

Public charging for passenger cars, 10–50 kW

  • Effekt på 10-50 kW (minst 2 kW vid lastbalansering).
  • At least four charging points.

Syftet med denna utlysning är bland annat att stärka tillgången till publik laddning i anslutning till bostäder, särskilt för boende i flerbostadshus som saknar egen parkeringsplats och därmed möjlighet att ladda sin elbil.

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency can co-finance public charging infrastructure where there is a need for support. You can apply for support by submitting a tender when a call for proposals is open.

A bidder may submit a maximum of 25 bids per charging category.

The 2025 call for tenders is divided into two charging categories based on charging power. In each category, the bids compete against each other.

Public fast charging for passenger cars, from 150 kW

  • Power output of at least 150 kW (at least 75 kW during load balancing).
  • At least four charging points.

Public charging for passenger cars, 10–50 kW

  • Power output of 10–50 kW (minimum 2 kW for load balancing).
  • At least four charging points.

Map and geographic location

The charging station must be located in a geographical area that is eligible for support. You can see which areas are eligible on the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's digital maps.  

Where there is no marking, the site is open for bidding. An area is closed when the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency assesses that public charging infrastructure can be built without support in the area.

A tender may only cover one charging station. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency defines a charging station as charging points gathered in the same place where one operator is responsible for operation.

Charging infrastructure that must be implemented to comply with legal requirements may not be financed with subsidies. The Planning and Building Regulations (PBF) contain specific rules for parking areas.  

Klimatklivet can grant support for charging stations used in your own business, i.e. non-public charging. Energy storage can also be included in the measure if it supplements the power supply via the electricity grid and is installed to maintain power to the charging station.

In order to receive support from Klimatklivet, the measure must

  • be a physical investment
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to if the measure is not implemented
  • only be possible with the help of support
  • be possible for your organization to co-finance and implement
  • be a local or regional investment.

If your measure meets these conditions, you can apply for support from Klimatklivet. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency then assesses the applications based on climate benefits and the applicable terms and conditions.

The climate benefit is assessed based on how much emissions are expected to decrease as a result of the investment. Therefore, an emissions calculation is one of the most important pieces of documentation in the application.

"Ladda bilen is the subsidy that makes it possible to invest in charging stations at homes and workplaces. The subsidy can be applied for by housing associations, companies, and other organizations that want to offer charging for electric vehicles for residents and employees.

Application period

Always open, no specific application periods.

Charging your car can provide your organization with subsidies for costs such as labor, materials, excavation, installation, and similar expenses. The subsidy covers up to 50% of the costs, but with a maximum amount of $1,500 per charging point.

The subsidy cannot be awarded to private individuals. Nor can it be awarded to charging stations intended for public use or charging stations that must be installed in accordance with law, other legislation, or permit conditions.
