Applications for investment support from Klimatklivet will open soon

Through Naturvårdsverket's Klimatklivet, it is possible to apply for up to 70% grants for investments in public charging infrastructure.
The application period for Klimatklivet is open from September 18 - September 29, 2023. This means that it is soon time to complete everything needed for an application, which can be both complicated and time consuming. Svensk Fordonsladdning can assist you in the application. Who can apply to Klimatklivet?

Support from Klimatklivet can be applied for by companies, regions, municipalities and municipal companies, associations, foundations and others. Farmers can also apply for support, but private individuals cannot apply for support through Klimatklivet.
Depending on what the charging infrastructure will be used for, the application may look different.

Where can you apply to Klimatklivet?

It is possible to apply for grants both within 3 km along a major road section and within urban areas. A major road section is defined by Trafikverket as “the functional priority road network for long-term freight or passenger transport.” Urban area is defined as a contiguous settlement with at least 200 inhabitants.

Naturvårdsverket's goal is then that in urban areas there should be public charging stations every 1000 meters.* A site is then also closed for application if there is already a charging station within 1 km.

*The charging station must have four charging points and a charging power of 150 kW.

What does an approved tender look like?

There are several points that determine whether a tender can be accepted or not. These are:

The tender is the only one within a category and in a location.
All mandatory criteria are met.
Other requirements in Ordinance 2015:517 are met.
It does not belong to the 10% with the highest competition amount within the category.

A number of general merit criteria can also influence the decision, these are:

Proximity to service facilities.
Grid dimensioning.
Energy storage.

To be granted support, the measure must be locally or regionally based and be in line with the county's climate and energy strategy. Measures that contribute to reduced greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture are prioritized.
The applications are reviewed regionally by the respective county administrative boards, and then Naturvårdsverket makes the decision. Provisionally, the decisions for the autumn application round will be made at the beginning of 2024. The measure may not be started before a decision has been given by Naturvårdsverket.

After the tender has been awarded, Svensk Fordonsladdning can continue to offer its support through design all the way to construction, operation and maintenance.
